Sea & nature
An island day. At another pace.
A short break from the city can change the rhythm of an entire stay. Brijuni invites a day shaped by paths, trees and water rather than street corners. The important decision comes before departure: book the island experience you intend to have.
At a glance
Pula → Fažana → the booked park experience → time to return without rushing.
Start with the crossing
Official park connections to Veliki Brijun depart from Fažana. From a base in Pula, plan how you will reach the departure point and allow a margin before boarding. The boat timetable is date-dependent. Confirm your particular ticket’s departure, return and meeting instructions directly with the park rather than borrowing a schedule from an old travel article.
An island on the horizon is not the same as an island visit.
Understand the ticket
A sightseeing cruise around the archipelago may offer views without including a landing or national-park admission. Read the inclusions carefully: which island, whether you disembark, what activities are included, and how much independent time is available. A product labelled “Brijuni” is not by itself a promise of the visit described in the park’s official programme.

Keep space in the day
Once you know the format, plan lightly. Comfortable walking shoes, drinking water and a layer for the crossing are more useful than an overfilled list. Check specific accessibility and transport arrangements in advance. Resist combining Brijuni, a full Arena visit and a long beach afternoon: leaving one substantial experience for another day usually makes the itinerary more enjoyable.
Before you go
Does every Brijuni boat trip include island entry?
No. Panoramic cruises and official island visits are different products. Read the precise inclusions before booking.
Where does the official boat leave from?
The park’s official Veliki Brijun connection leaves from Fažana. Check the current schedule and meeting instructions with the park.
