Seasonal
Winter, under Roman stone.
Pula changes character in winter. Roman stone catches colder light, the old town becomes more intimate after dark, and Advent spreads through several city spaces rather than a single market square. For 2026–2027, the useful way to plan is by neighbourhood, evening and confirmed programme — not by an old timetable copied from a previous year.

A city-wide Advent, not one square
Advent in Pula runs from 29 November 2026 to 6 January 2027. Visit Pula lists Christmas markets, live concerts, family activities and New Year celebrations around the Arena, Forum, Kaštel and other city locations. Think of it as a route through the centre: heritage by day, festive spaces after dusk, and enough distance between them to keep the evening from feeling like a checklist.
The winter city is quieter in daylight — and more theatrical after dark.
The Arena becomes the winter anchor
The main programme in front of the Arena is announced to begin on 5 December. That wording matters: events staged in front of the amphitheatre should not be described as performances inside it unless the individual event says so. The Arena remains the visual anchor — ancient limestone behind a contemporary winter city — while museum access and event access should be checked separately.
Temple of Augustus and town hall on the Forum at dusk
Kaštel takes on a new winter role
Kaštel is the major spatial change for this edition. Art Park moves its winter programme to the fortress for the first time, adding a high point above the old town to the Advent map. Organisers have announced music, market-style content, workshops and family programming. Artist names have been released, but the complete timetable was still being published in stages at the time of this guide.
New Year, three different moods
On 31 December, the programme is split across three locations. Gustafi are announced for the traditional noon celebration in front of the Arena. The Forum hosts the central evening celebration with Bajaga & Instruktori followed by Night Express. Kaštel offers an alternative programme with Prti Bee Gee. Treat these as three distinct atmospheres rather than one event that can be experienced all at once.
Build a winter weekend around the city
A strong winter stay does not need a dense schedule. Pair one heritage visit with a long lunch, choose one Advent zone for the evening, and keep the following morning flexible for the Forum, Kaštel or a coastal walk if weather allows. Before travelling, recheck the official event calendar, museum hours and the individual venue details that matter to your plan.
